A rigorous course in algebra at the level of MATH 417 or above3 or 4
A rigorous course in analysis at the level of MATH 447 or above3 or 4
Coursework from the College of Education in courses related to the teaching of mathematics at the secondary or college level, subject to the approval of the Director of Graduate Studies in Mathematics.7-8

MATH 405, MATH 415, MATH 444, and MATH 499 cannot be counted toward this graduate degree.
